* Friends, family and colleagues play a key role in any job search.

* Among executives and managers, Internet job sites beat out newspapers. Friends/colleagues and Internet sites are the two most frequently used resources when this group looks for a job.

* Among clerical and service workers, friends/colleagues, newspapers and Human Resources and Skills Development Canada centres are the top three resources used, but Internet job sites place a close fourth.
