Solar-powered ad panels debut
Being green just got easier for marketers interested in demonstrating environmental leadership.
Today in Vancouver, transit advertising specialist Carmanah Technologies will officially introduce an illuminated advertising panel powered by exposure to sunlight.
Carmanah has been beta testing its i-Panel in Canada and the US recently in partnership with outdoor biggies Clear Channel and CBS Decaux. The company’s light-box technology offers ‘grid independence with uncompromised brightness, light uniformity, image clarity and reliability,’ says its CEO, Art Aylesworth. ‘When compared to a grid-connected ad panel, the solar-powered i-Panel eliminates approximately 7,000 pounds of carbon dioxide emissions annually.’
