ACTRA commercial performers OK 3% raise

The new deal became effective this week and covers only one year.

By a nearly unanimous vote, performers represented by the Alliance of Canadian Cinema, Television and Radio Artists have ratified a one-year extension of their National Commercial Agreement.

The NCA covers the terms and conditions of work of professional performers in all television, radio and new media commercials made in Canada. The terms of the extension include a 3% general increase to all rates, plus an additional one-point increase to insurance contributions. The new rates, terms and conditions became effective on July 1.

The agreement was negotiated by ACTRA, the Institute of Communications and Advertising (ICA) and the Association of Canadian Advertisers (ACA).
