Alliance Atlantis picks Maven for online video

Cambridge, Massachusetts-based Maven Networks will design next-gen broadband video players for Alliance Atlantis’s online specialty properties, such as FoodTV.ca, HGTV.ca and Slice.ca. The partnership was announced on Tuesday, and the Internet TV channels will be available starting next week.

Alliance Atlantis chose the Maven Internet TV Platform as it will enable rapid and efficient updates to content and advertising offerings across Internet and cable programming channels. The broadband video players will allow Alliance Atlantis to customize video experiences for users and give advertisers customization capabilities with a new analytics interface.

Alliance Atlantis SVP digital media Claude Galipeau says video deployment on the company’s sites is growing exponentially and ‘monetizing opportunities around that growth are critical for the long-term success of our broadband channels.’ Maven Networks CEO Hilmi Ozguc says the partnership will also lead to increased audience reach through online affiliate syndication.

Maven Networks announced deals in the spring to power online video for TVGuide.com in the US and Univision.com‘s online video portal. The company’s ad serving partners include DoubleClick and LightningCast. Maven’s agency partners include Carat, Digitas, Ogilvy & Mather and Tribal DDB Worldwide.
