Metro leveraging 30th anniversary of Elvis’ demise
In yet another clever promotion by Canada’s most-read free daily, Metro is honouring Elvis Presley for the 30th anniversary of when he really left the building back in 1977.
From today through August 16, those who pick up the TorStar-owned pub – whose total Canadian readership of its six editions stands at 846,000, according to NADbank – are being invited to find special ‘Remembering the King’ PIN codes. The numbers lead to free downloads of one of Presley’s hit songs each day of the promotion.
Partnering in the initiative is HMV Canada – which is sharing daily ads in Metro to promote the release of a three-CD ‘Introducing Elvis’ collection.
