Daily Dose Media launches sister sites for stylish women

Vancouver's almost-three-year-old VitaminV.ca is expanding eastward via VitaminT.ca and VitaminM.ca.

Vancouver-based online lifestyle mag VitaminV.ca launched sister sites this week targeting style-conscious and highly educated women in Toronto and Montreal. VitaminT.ca and VitaminM.ca will cover various fashion finds, beauty must-haves, weekend getaways and restaurant openings in those markets. The sites also feature an interactive forum for chatting and sharing tips.

The Vancouver edition was launched by Daily Dose Media founders Sarah Bancroft and Tara Parker Tait in 2004. The ad-supported site also serves up sponsored tips and newsletters. Toronto-based UpTrend Media has signed on to represent the sites to advertisers.

VitaminV.ca editor Sarah Bancroft says the Vancouver edition currently has about 13,000 subscribers to the site’s daily newsletter. As of yesterday morning, the Toronto and Montreal editions had attracted about 2,000 subscribers within 24 hours. Bancroft says all three sites are averaging about 20-30 new registered users per hour. ‘The whole thing is viral – subscribers sending it to their friends,’ says Bancroft.
