So You Think You Can Dance… in Canada?
That's right. CTV's got a homegrown version of the dance hit coming to Canucks.
CTV will launch So You Think You Can Dance Canada – a homegrown version of the show that consistently ranks as one of the net’s top three summer series.
CTV president of creative, content and channels Susanne Boyce made the deal at MIPCOM in France yesterday with 19 Entertainment’s Simon Fuller, the series’ creator. The net will develop, produce and broadcast the show together with 19 Entertainment and Dick Clark Productions, co-owners of the format.
Outside of the US, other markets with original productions of So You Think You Can Dance include Norway, Denmark, Greece, Turkey and Israel. Original versions of the series are also in production in Australia, Poland and Malaysia.
CTV will soon announce the host, judging panel and nationwide audition process for So You Think You Can Dance Canada. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
