CTV pushes prime time to VOD platform
On top of its broadband strategy, the net now has three new shows lined up for video-on-demand.
CTV is making three of its new fall series acquisitions – Gossip Girl, Big Shots and Pushing Daisies (pictured) – available for the first time on both VOD and broadband, thanks to deals with Warner Bros. International and Rogers.
The net will make free, full-length eps of the three shows available 24 hours after they hit the air on Rogers VOD – tagged with CTV series promotions – for six days each. The CTV promo spot rolls at the beginning of each VOD episode, and another promo message appears as a lower third periodically. Otherwise, the VOD shows are running commercial-free.
The ad-supported broadband eps will be available for the duration of the series’ run at CTV.ca. Episodes are presented with a mix of paid advertising and CTV promos.
