Canadian Geographic increases pub sked
In response to what it terms ‘overwhelming consumer feedback,’ Canadian Geographic announced yesterday that, beginning with next month’s issue, it is upping publication from four issues annually to six – while simultaneously adding two more issues of its Travel title to make it a quarterly.
Now heading into its 78th year of publication, CG claims it has ranked as Canada’s ‘best-read’ full-sized magazine for the past seven consecutive years, according to Canada’s Print Measurement Bureau. The magazine also boasts the highest per copy subscription price and an industry-leading renewal rate of 80%.
‘Our first-place ranking in key advertiser categories defines our leadership position in the magazine marketplace,’ says Paula Prociuk, VP advertising sales and marketing for Canadian Geographic Enterprises, ‘and it made [going to] 10 issues an easy choice.’ Increased frequency, she adds, ‘not only offers greater flexibility for advertiser campaigns, but the additional two Travelissues per year will raise our already significant reach into the demographic audience most sought after by agency planners.’
