Discovery HD offers two new series

The four-part series Icons of Power will premiere on Discovery HD on Nov. 11 at 9 pm ET/PT. Each two-hour episode offers a revealing look at one of history’s most controversial rulers. Britain’s Henry VIII is the focus of the first episode and France’s Napoleon Bonaparte is featured in the second episode. The final two episodes document Russian rulers Catherine the Great and Peter the Great.
Also premiering on the channel is the six-part hour-long series Rogue Nature, which bows on Nov. 15 at 9 pm ET. Canadian predator expert Dave Salmoni gets up close and personal with wild animals known for frequent attacks on humans to discover how inherently dangerous they are. Salmoni studies each animal’s predatory profile, documents stories of survival from attack victims and observes the beasts in their natural habitats to find the answer.
