NewCap targets Calgary adults with classic hits
Classic hits are now on the air with Calgary's new XL 103 FM.
Dartmouth, Nova Scotia-based NewCap Radio (Newfoundland Capital Corporation) is going after adults 35+ in Calgary with XL 103 FM, an evolution of the station previously known as California 103.
The new XL 103 FM debuted with a greatest hits format spanning the 60s, 70s and 80s – from the Beatles and Elton John to Van Morrison and Simon & Garfunkel. With the new name comes a new website, www.XL103calgary.com, which streams the content live.
Previously, the station’s restricted licence meant many tunes on the air were less than familiar.
