YTV orders pint-size Survivorman
The so far unskedded series will test the skills of a team of six teens for three weeks in the wilderness.
YTV has ordered 13 episodes of Survivorman Kids, a pint-size series ‘inspired’ by Survivorman, which airs on OLN in Canada and on Discovery Channel in the US.
Survivorman Kids (working title) will take a team of six 14- to-16-year-olds into the wilderness for three weeks to test their survival skills. Filmmaker and survival expert Les Stroud will serve as a mentor and judge.
The new series will ‘show our audiences that [kids] have the same capability, both mentally and physically, and give kids a chance to test themselves in the wild outdoors,’ says Scott Dyer, EVP/GM of Corus Kids Television. No word yet on when the show might hit the airwaves.
