Transcontinental cooks up website for recipe lovers
The publisher seeks to build on its top-performing French recipe site with a new English-language counterpart.
‘That doesn’t mean we want to adapt content from the French site,’ says Jocelyne Morissette, consumer websites director, Transcontinental Media. ‘Our goal is to create a totally independent site that all English-speaking Canadians can enjoy.’
The website boasts over 1,500 recipes, half of which originate from canadianliving.com. The rest are translated from Recettes.qc.ca, and the goal is to have that percentage grow to include 90% user-generated content. Recipefeast.com treats users to an easy-to-navigate design that offers a recipe search, a recipe of the day, a top 10 list, cooking tips and a local food guide.
Advertising opportunities on the site are offered in a mélange of formats, including buttons, banners, section sponsorships and product placement on the plate.
