Global takes three out of 10
BBM/Nielsen Top 30 – June 23-29

CTV still has the top five shows, but Global's Wipeout, House and Bones have climbed into the top 10. And the CBC snuck in too...

Here are the national winners (for all persons 2+; all times ET), according to BBM/Nielsen, for June 23-29.

News and daily shows: CTV Evening News at 6 pm hit #4 with an average minute audience of 1.145 million viewers (down from 1.235 on the previous week’s national chart), while CTV National News at 11 pm took #17 with 759,000 (down from 780,000). The net’s Jeopardy/Access Hollywood at 7:30 pm averaged 804,000 for its Tuesday, Thursday and Friday airings (down from 910,000). Global’s The Young & The Restless at 4:30 pm hit #14 with 785,000 (down from 806,000). Global National at 5:30 pm took #21 with 703,000 (down from 760,000), while News Hour at 6 pm hit #22 with 701,000 (down from 757,000). The CBC’s National News at 10 pm took #25 with 627,000 (up from 580,000), while National Current Affairs at 10:25 pm hit #29 with 559,000 viewers.

Monday: CTV’s Canadian Idol averaged 1.265 million on Monday and Tuesday from 8-9:30 pm (up from 1.233 million), taking #3 on the national chart. Global’s House at 9 pm climbed to #8 with 913,000 (up from 789,000), while Bones at 8 pm hit #10 with 861,000 (down from 899,000). CTV’s CSI: Miami at 10 pm took #16 with 763,000 (down from 976,000).

Tuesday: Aside from Canadian Idol (see Monday), Global’s Wipeout at 8 pm hit #7 with 919,000 viewers. CTV’s Without a Trace at 10 pm took #19 with 746,000 viewers (down from 1.015 million for Law & Order: SVU the previous week).

Wednesday: CTV’s So You Think You Can Dance, airing 8-10 pm, averaged 1.473 million (down from 1.496 million) and stayed at #2. The net’s CSI: New York at 10 pm took #5 with 1.027 million (down from 1.152 million), while Canadian Idol at 7:30 pm hit #13 with 796,000 viewers.

Thursday: CTV’s So You Think You Can Dance at 9 pm stayed at #1 with 1.506 million (down from 1.521 million). The net’s Law & Order: CI at 10 pm took #6 with 1.014 million (down from 1.148 million), while CSI at 8 pm hit #18 with 751,000 (down from 1.023 million). Global’s Swingtown at 10 pm took #27 with 570,000 viewers.

Friday: CTV’s Without a Trace at 10 pm hit #24 with 665,000 viewers (down from 773,000), while Ghost Whisperer at 8 pm took #26 with 607,000 (down from 701,000). Global’s Numb3rs at 10 pm hit #28 with 562,000 (up from 556,000), while its appearance in the 9 pm time slot took #30 with 532,000 viewers.

Saturday: CTV’s Evening News weekend programming at 6 pm attracted a Saturday-Sunday average of 719,000 viewers (down from 839,000).

Sunday: CTV’s Sunday night movie at 9 pm won the night, hitting #9 with 912,000 viewers. The pubcaster’s Sunday night news followed at #11 for 10 minutes at 11 pm, keeping 826,000 viewers. CTV’s Million Dollar Password at 8 pm hit #15 with 769,000 (down from 922,000), while the net’s Cold Case at 9 pm took #23 with 678,000 viewers (down from 904,000).
