LG ties fashion with YouTube
As the sponsor of L'Oreal Fashion Week, LG Electronics Canada sought out Fashion Fusion models in downtown Toronto and posted its best clips online.
Toronto-based LG Electronics Canada (LG), sponsor of L’Oreal Fashion Week, is hosting the first LG Fashion Fusion, which will showcase the fashion designs of industry leaders and consumers on Saturday, Oct. 25 at Nathan Phillips Square. Last week, LG searched for aspiring models to participate in the fashion extravaganza using an open casting call, with top catwalk struts posted later on YouTube.
With a performance by Grammy award-winning rock band Maroon 5 and a fashion show by a yet-to-be announced international designer, the exclusive tent event will be fully broadcast outside on large screens in Nathan Phillips Square.
To highlight its support of various fashion events in Toronto, LG recently launched the new website www.lg.ca/fashion, which features photos and videos, as well as a contest in which consumers can win tickets to the fashion events. To enter the contest, consumers uploaded photos showing off ‘their style.’
‘Since 1996, we’ve aligned ourselves with the fashion industry for everything from the Toronto International Film Festival to the Chocolate Phone series’ launch – featuring a lingerie fashion show – to the introduction of the Shine Phone series, in partnership with Birks,’ says Andrew Barrett, VP of marketing at LG Electronics Canada. ‘We love sophisticated style and spectacular design, and strive to be fashion forward in everything we do.’
