City-based online fashion pub adds Eastern and Western depth, and develops new ad opps.

Online lifestyle magazine publisher, Vancouver-based Dose Media, has just launched Formerly, and – in Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal respectively – the online city-based publication for women 18-35 is extending its reach in Eastern and Western Canada, including a new francophone site aimed at the Quebec market.‘s new Francophone edition,, which went live this week, features original content geared toward French-speaking stylistas. Set in Montreal and Quebec, and edited by Elsa Vecchi, a Parisian fashion reporter and former host of her own fashion talk show in France, the new site offers French-speaking Canadians stylish content with savvy tips about living the good life.

In addition to the new Francophone site, a Calgary edition of will follow in the New Year.

The original site, which gets over 40,000 uniques every month according to Google Analytics, 9,000 page views and delivers 17,000 daily newsletters per day, offers lifestyle advertisers a targeted female audience. Brands currently advertising on the site include H&M, The Gap, Mercedes, BMW, Estée Lauder, SunRype, Holt Renfrew, Clinique and Tourism BC.

Ad opps on the new Editor’s Diaries in each city (where readers can get sneak peeks of store openings and product unveilings) as well as sponsored emails, scoops, forums, surveys and polls as well as pre-roll and vidcasts will also be available in 2009.

The publication is currently working with Vancouver-based ReThink and VideoEgg to develop a viral video push called ‘Don’t be a Don’t,’ launching on female-focused sites as of Jan. 15, starting in the Toronto market.
