Howe let go from Transcontinental
The VP and group publisher of English Canada consumer publications is laid off amid restructuring at the Montreal-based media company.
Transcontinental Media confirmed today that Jacqueline Howe, VP and group publisher of English Canada consumer publications, has been laid off from the company due to restructuring.
The move had nothing to do with Howe’s performance in the job, Pierre Marcoux, senior VP, business and consumer solutions group, told MiC this afternoon. The layoff was instead part of Transcontinental’s overall corporate cost-cutting in the wake of 2009′s difficult economic climate. The publishers who had previously reported to Howe will now report to Marcoux.
Howe had been with the company for five years, overseeing the publication of such magazines as Canadian Living, Coup de pouce, Elle Canada, Elle Québec and Style at Home.
