New programs on deck for DIY Network Canada

Whether it’s adding outdoor rooms or saving up to $10,000 on home renovation projects, DIY Network Canada has a handful of new series that hope to appeal to the everyday handyman (and woman).

Indoors Out will premiere March 29, running Mondays at 3:30 p.m. It’s a 30-minute series that finds stonemasons and contractors Dean Marsico and Derek Stearns leading a crew of carpenters, landscapers and masons to build an outdoor room, which will expand a home’s square footage without expanding the home.

Also premiering March 29 at 7 p.m.: Blog Cabin, a daring multimedia experiment based on the premise that US viewers interactively get to vote on the inclusion of specific features of a log cabin. Then host Amy Matthews and a group of experts build the cabin, which will be won by a lucky viewer.

10 Grand In Your Hand, which premieres Thursday, April 1 at 10 and 10:30 p.m., shows homeowners how to employ a little elbow grease to cut up to $10,000 from their renovation and remodeling projects.

Meanwhile, over on HGTV, Earth Day is being celebrated early – on April 18 at 2:30 p.m., to be exact – with a one-hour special hosted by Chi Lan called 20 Ways Your Home Can Save The Planet. It’s a room-by-room tour with ecology saving tips to help make one’s home be greener and planet-friendly.

Sponsorship opportunities are available for all shows.
