The gov goes big: Media Monitors radio rankings: March 8 to March 14, 2010

 

The Government of Canada led both Toronto and Montreal in radio buy action, according to spending rankings for the week of March 8 to March 14.

In Toronto, the Government slid into the top from its runner-up position, staving off more impressive leaps by Sears (13 slots to #2) and Tim Hortons (16 positions to #3). Ads for the motion picture She’s Out Of My League debuted at #4, while Rona executed a 294-spot jump to take #5.Car manufacturers piled into the remainder of the top 10, with Ontario Honda Dealers motoring up 77 clicks to #6, Nissan debuting at #7 and Mitsubishi Lancer jumping four spots to # 9 to round up the movers in the first 10.

In Montreal, the Government of Canada’s 17-point jump edged out the Government of Quebec for top dog, with the Montreal Gazette aggressively re-positioning itself up 29 notches to take #3. Hyundai roared to an impressive #5 debut, outgunning Nissan who arrived at #7. Home centre and hardware chain Réno-Dépôt squeaked up three slots to #8 to finish off this week’s advances.
