Ploughman resigns, new CEO named at MediaCom

Isobar exec Jamie Edwards will take the helm at the agency starting Nov. 9; Ploughman to stay on through transition.

After leading MediaCom Canada for three years, Amanda Ploughman has stepped down as CEO of the Group M-owned agency and will be replaced in the position by former Isobar exec Jamie Edwards.

Ploughman, whose departure was announced late today, was not available for comment on the move.

Edwards comes to MediaCom Canada from the global arm of Isobar, an Aegis Media agency, where he worked in global client services. Prior to his work with Isobar, he worked with Aegis’ Vizeum Global and Vizeum USA. Edwards will start his new role Nov. 9, overseeing management and operations of all MediaCom work across Canada.

‘This is a good opportunity for us to change and take a new direction for MediaCom,’ Doug Checkeris, CEO, MediaCom North America, tells MiC. ‘I think that’s really at the core of it. We’ve had the time to make a thorough search and found what we believe is an excellent new leader for MediaCom.’
