E! unveils launch plans, program lineup
Programming strategy designed to let Canadians catch up with E!'s feature franchises, CTV's Webb says.
AE! announced that it was returning to Canuck airwaves on CTV earlier this month, and now the broadcaster has revealed the programs and launch strategy for its big comeback on Nov. 29.
ETalk will be joining the new weeknight lineup, airing twice nightly from Monday to Friday. E! will also tease its schedule with day and date premieres of E! News (Monday to Friday evenings, Saturday and Sunday mornings) and Chelsea Lately (Monday to Friday evenings) for the launch week, before capping off with a three-day marathon of E!’s Keeping up with the Kardashians (pictured).
It’ll then move into its regular schedule on Sunday, Dec. 5 with Canuck premieres of series Kourtney & Khloe Take Miami, Kendra (December 7), True Hollywood Story (Dec. 8), The Soup and Fashion Police both on Dec. 10, while new E! series Married to Rock and Bridalplasty also make their debuts on Dec. 12.
‘Our goal is to present E! programming day-and-date with the US, so our launch strategy allows Canadians to get caught up with E!’s franchise series,’ said SVP programming Joanna Webb, CTV, in a statement.
Each weekend will also feature back-to-back marathons from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. that will range from E! Specials, E! Originals or True Hollywood Story.
