Doritos Viralocity tops CMAs
The social media-heavy campaign wins Best of the Best as well as Best in Advertising at the annual gala.
Canadian marketing professionals donned their best on Friday to celebrate the best in Canadian marketing at the Canadian Marketing Association’s annual gala.
The big winner of the night was Frito Lay for the Doritos Viralocity campaign, taking home the Best of the Best award, Best in Advertising, Best in Consumer Products and Best in Digital, as well as a basket of Gold and Bronze awards as well. The campaign was handled by BBDO/Proximity Canada.
Although Doritos dominated many of the highest-profile categories, there was still lots of room for other campaigns to shine through. Target’s ‘Find Yourself’ campaign for Newfoundland Labrador Tourism took home Best in Consumer Services and Gold in Advertising-Consumer Services.
DDB Canada and Unilever also built on a 2010 strategy Agency of the Year success with an award for Best in Integrated for its Knorr Sidekicks ‘Salty’ campaign, as well as two Golds, a Silver and a Bronze.
