Seven Canadians named Cannes judges
Top creatives and execs from agencies including ZenithOptimedia, John St., DDB and Leo Burnett will have their say at the festival this summer.
Canadians vying for gold at this year’s 59th annual Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity will see some familiar faces on the judging panel as seven advertising professionals from the Great White North have been named.
The list includes:
Sunni Boot, CEO, ZenithOptimedia – Media jury
Angus Tucker, partner and CD, John St. – Film jury
Dre Labre, CD, Rethink – Cyber jury
Kelly Zettel, creative group head, Leo Burnett – Direct jury
Denise Rosetto, CD, DDB – Radio jury
Brian Sheppard, EVP and co-ECD, Saatchi and Saatchi Canada – Promo jury
Barbara Jacques, CD, Cossette – Design jury
“Our judges have earned a rightful place on the world stage,” says Andrew Saunders, VP advertising sales, the Globe and Mail. “We look forward to seeing Canadian creativity earn the top awards in Cannes.”
The festival honours the industry’s best and brightest international talent and will run from June 17 to 23, 2012. The entry deadline for all Cannes Lions, except the Creative Effectiveness category, is March 9, 2012.
