MEC adds a president of digital
The mediaco has hired Jack Bamberger to the new role where he will oversee the agency's digital, social, search, mobile and emerging platforms.
MEC North America has added a new role to its company, with Jack Bamberger joining the GroupM media agency as president of digital.
Bamberger will be based out of New York City and report to Marla Kaplowitz, CEO, MEC North America.
In the new role, Bamberger will be responsible for the agency’s offerings across social, digital, search, mobile and emerging platforms, according to a company release.
Bamberger most recently worked at Dentsu America where he worked as chief consumer engagement officer and set up its digital and social media practice in the US.
Marla Kaplowitz, CEO, MEC North America, tells MiC they hired Bamberger for the role because the agency was looking for someone who could take an integrated marketing approach to its digital business.
“We wanted someone who has a broader marketing background,” she says. “If you look at his background you will see he has looked at the media agency and publishing side. He has looked at so many different areas that we really think he has the experience to lead teams and inspire them in different ways.”
