Family cranks up the heat with its Big Ticket Summer
The summer promotion includes the channel's first-ever ticketed concert event, with sponsorship opps available.
The Family Channel has launched its Big Ticket Summer Concert, targeting its primary demo of kids aged 8 to 14 and their parents.
Promotion around the summer concert will be found across the channel’s movie premieres and episode marathons. Viewers can also win tickets to the show through weekly TV challenges and a contest found online at Family.ca. The contest offers kids across the country the chance to fly to Toronto for the Big Ticket Summer Concert on Sunday, Aug. 26 at the Molson Canadian Amphitheatre. Headlining is Disney star Bridgit Mendler, pop rock trio Allstar Weekend, and R5.
“The Big Ticket Summer Concert will be Family Channel’s first ticketed public event,” a Family Channel spokesperson tells MiC. “The channel’s campaigns normally feature grassroots tours in markets across Canada. This year we are staying in one city and offering 11 fly-away trips to kids across Canada to join us.”
Sponsorship packages for the concert include on-air, digital media and grassroots opportunities: “Family is actively approaching sponsors to take on three different sponsorship level packages that will be customized to meet the sponsors’ needs.”
With kids out of school, summer is an opportunity for The Family Channel to differentiate from other children’s TV channels in an integrated way, says the spokesperson. “Not only does Family have a major summer event planned and a major summer-long contest to go with it, but Family’s programming schedule also gets an overhaul to create as many opportunities as we can to make a kid’s summer as fun as possible.”
