Rdio partners with Shaw to expand Canadian presence
The Canadian communications company will promote the music streaming service across its platforms.
Shaw Communications and music streaming service Rdio have entered into a partnership that will see the music streaming service promoted across Shaw’s network of television and digital properties as it seeks to expand its Canadian presence.
In a release, Brad Shaw, CEO, Shaw Communications, said, “Our partnership with Rdio will develop great offers that will enable Shaw customers and everyone across the country to enjoy this service.”
Canada is Rdio’s second largest market after the U.S.
Shaw Ventures has made a financial investment in Rdio’s holding company, Pulser Media, as part of the arrangement. The move follows a similar partnership Rdio entered into with Brazilian media company Grupo Bandeirantes earlier this month.
