Maxus Canada has picked up the account for the consumer health division of Valeant Pharmaceuticals, which has a portfolio of brands including Cold-FX, Swiss Herbal and Bausch + Lomb.
The win includes media planning and buying for the SKUs, as well as search marketing (SEM and SEO) and content development.
In a release on the win, Veronique Hamel, VP of marketing at Valeant Canada, said the two companies work well together in part because both are positioned as challengers in the market.
Valeant Pharmaceuticals manufactures, markets and distributes pharmaceutical products and medical devices to primary care or specialist physicians in Canada. In recent years it has been adding to its consumer division, acquiring eye care company Bausch + Lomb in 2013.
