Scotiabank is building out its global team, hiring two directors to the team from Canadian media agencies.

The financial institution has added Gah Yee Won as director of global digital strategy and Ryan Van Dongen as its director of global media strategy and planning.

Yee Won was most recently at MediaCom Canada, where she was director of digital strategy. She starts at Scotiabank on Jan. 8.

A direct replacement for Yee Won hasn’t yet been named at MediaCom Canada, but a spokesperson says the agency recently hired Dominik Majka as SVP of digital to provide senior leadership across all accounts.

Van Dongen, who joined the bank late last year, moved from UM Canada, where he worked as director of connection planning and innovation. The majority of Van Dongen’s accounts at UM Canada are now handled by Emily Strongitharm, director of connections planning at the agency.
