Prime Minister Justin Trudeau partners with Vice Canada

Vice Canada announced this week that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau would be visiting Ontario-based First Nations reserve Shoal Lake 40 as part of an exclusive documentary special to air on VICELAND later this spring. The media co also had an exclusive interview with the Prime Minister that will air on Vice News.

OMAC releases charitable figures

Members of OMAC donated over $24 million in advertising space to charities, not-for-profits, community services and organizations, according to release from the industry organization.

Shomi goes live on Xbox One

Shomi is live on another platform with the announcement that Xbox One users will have access to the streamer as of May 3. The streamer, which is a collaboration between Rogers Media and Shaw Communications, was made available to all Canadians last summer after a test period with internal subscribers of each company.

Loopmedia adds a director

Toni Rufo has been hired as director of client solutions at Loopmedia. Rufo joins the team from Rogers Media, where she worked as category director for fashion and beauty in the client solutions division. At Loopmedia Rufo will be responsible for generating integrated solutions for new and existing clients.

Seevibes hires CTO

Montreal-based data targeting company Seevibes has announced the addition of Philippe Bouzaglou as its chief technology officer. Bouzaglou has spent his career working as a mentor, business angel and resident entrepreneur, accompanying and consulting startups in Canada, Europe and the U.S.

Bell Media expands its Hot Docs partnership

As part of its continuing support for the Hot Docs festival, Bell Media will be airing O.J. Simpson: Made in America on CTV, TSN and Crave TV in June. As presenting partner of the festival the broadcaster will return with the CraveTV Box Office at the Hot Docs House, the Hot Docs Forum, the Bell Media Kickstart series, and the Hot Docs Short Film Pitch, which is a BravoFACT-sponsored live pitch event.

Gigi Hadid to host IHeartRadio Canada Much Music Video Awards

Gigi Hadid has been named the host of the IHeartRadio Canada Much Music Video Awards, which air Sunday June 19 at 9 p.m. on Much, CTV and Much.com. Hadid will be joined by Much personalities Liz Trinnear and Tyrone Edwards as co-hosts.
