Quebec City’s transit shelters are getting a digital facelift.

Astral Out of Home is adding 20 new 4K HD screens on transit shelters across the city’s Réseau de transport de la Capitale (RTC) network.

The move is part of the Bell Media division’s efforts to gradually digitize assets across the country. Specifically it is the outcome of a partnership signed with the RTC in June 2015, with an aim to gives transit users a more enhanced transit experience. In December, the company added 10 large-format digital screens across Toronto, Montreal and Calgary.

The 84-inch LCD screens for Quebec City can be programmed and controlled remotely through Astral’s central platform. Advertisers can add six messages of eight seconds each into a digital loop.

The faces will be installed and operational by the end of June this year.
