Tennis taking over TSN sked
TSN is covering the Rogers Cup, a stop on the ATP and WTA Tours. The men's event takes place from July 21-25 at the Toronto Rexall Centre at York University, while the women's event follows from July 28-August 1 at Montreal's Uniprix Stadium.
As TSN's Brian Williams hosts the play-by-play for both events, Peter Burwash (Canadian athlete and tennis coach) will act as game analyst for the men's event, while Tracy Austin (former top world women's tennis player) does likewise for the women's game. SportsCentre and tsn.ca will broadcast daily highlights.
Among the men returning to the tournament are current world No. 1 player Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic (pictured). Female athletes include WTA's No. 1-ranked player Ana Ivanovic, Maria Sharapova and Venus Williams.
In addition, ESPN Classic will air a six-hour salute to the heroes and champions of the past on July 27 to support the women's side of the tournament. The tribute will be presented by JVC.
Available in 9 million households, TSN is a division of CTVglobemedia.
