MiC‘s K.I.S.S. pick: Have your target
demo create your ad campaign

Sounds like a win/win is in the works with Canada's Next Top Ad Exec Competition. Mitsubishi is helping undergrads fast-track their marketing careers while simultaneously tapping into a treasure trove of youthful insights.

Canada’s Next Top Ad Exec Competition, which launches today, will pit undergrads from across the country against each other to develop an innovative launch campaign for a product that’s aimed directly at their demographic: the 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer. The student whose campaign is judged best will be named ‘Marketing Champion’ and drive away in a Mitsubishi Lancer or an Eclipse.

Designed to challenge the best and brightest business students across Canada – and to create interaction between students and marketing professionals – the contest was organized by the DeGroote School of Business at Hamilton, Ont.’s McMaster University, and is being funded by Mitsubishi Motor Sales of Canada. The DeGroote Marketing Association is appointing account managers at each participating business school to promote the competition in their community, and an interactive website provides participants with the tools to create a comprehensive campaign.

All submissions will go through rounds of judging by a panel of industry experts including representatives from Mitsubishi Motors, BBDO and strategy. The creators of the top 10 submissions will be flown to Hamilton make their pitches live to the judging panel at Way More About Advertising Day @ DeGroote on March 19, 2007.
