Nintendo Wii is teaming up with AP to deliver The News Channel to North American users of its console starting Saturday, Jan. 27. The user interface will allow Wii owners to spin a virtual globe, and point to the location of a news event using the Wii remote. They can access information geographically and in the order they desire. Because Wii caters to all different ages–it’s dubbed the family market’s choice in the video game console wars–the interface allows users to change the size of the text. The company has reportedly sold 1.25 million consoles in North America at the end of 2006.
