National Advertising Awards get a new angel

To help foster ever more creative integrated campaigns, CanWest will pick up the tab for sending the best media and creative talent to the Cannes Ad Fest.

CanWest MediaWorks has signed on as lead sponsor for this year’s National Advertising Awards. Its motivation for doing so, said SVP marketing ventures Catherine Bridgman in a statement is: ‘to support Canada’s home-grown advertising talent (plus the creation of) integrated media approaches’ to campaigns.

The winners of the National Advertising Awards will be announced on May 2 at a gala event during the NAA Festival in Toronto – and the victorious teams will receive cash awards from CanWest to cover travel and registration expenses to attend the Cannes Advertising Festival this June. From 2002 to 2006, the Globe & Mail was the NAA Festival’s lead sponsor.
