Canuck tooncaster dips into VOD and mobile

Teletoon is about to launch digital services on Shaw and Rogers, and will go mobile next month.

Today, the Toronto-based Teletoon net will begin offering 50 shows – bundled into 10 packages – to Shaw VOD cable subscribers (20 bundles to be available by July). The net is also making four shows available for free on the Rogers On Demand digital service beginning today.

Additionally, Teletoon is migrating to mobile on May 15 for the first time. Telus wireless customers across Canada will be able to watch Teletoon programming on Telus Mobile TV, in both English and French.

TELUS currently does not place ads in its Mobile TV service, as the ads from the original stations are streamed along with the content.
