Terminator series joins Idol in premieres this week

Some new programming is hitting the air on CTV, Space and A-Channel this week, including the TV take-off of the Terminator movies, a miniseries with Val Kilmer and the terminator of all terminators - the American Idol juggernaut. But Global's got some shows too.

CTV’s Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, starring Lena Headley (pictured – 300), premiered Sunday night in the 9 pm ET time slot, leading out of Amazing Race and followed by Medium. The second ep will hit CTV’s Monday 9 pm time slot tonight, where it will remain at this time, while Space will debut both of the first two eps on Saturday, January 19 from 9-11 pm ET.

CTVglobemedia A-Channel also premiered its six-hour miniseries Comanche Moon, starring Val Kilmer and Steve Zahn, on Sunday, with the remaining hours set to hit the sked on Tuesday and Wednesday, airing 9-11 pm ET each night. The series serves as a prequel to the 1989 Emmy Award-winning miniseries Lonesome Dove.

In other programming news from CTV, Corner Gas moves to the Monday 8 pm ET time slot today, serving as a lead-in for the return of Two and a Half Men at 8:30 pm ET. Dance War: Bruno vs. Carrie Ann moves to A-Channel tonight, taking the Monday 8 pm ET time slot.

CTV’s other returning shows include Degrassi: The Next Generation (7:30 pm tonight) and the juggernaut, American Idol, which kicks off its season Tuesday and Wednesday in the 8 pm time slot.
