Pattison Outdoor nabs Halifax transit account

The deal expands the company's transit coverage into the Maritimes and complements its extensive other OOH venues in the region.

Toronto-HQ’d Pattison Outdoor Advertising has been awarded the advertising rights for the Halifax Regional Municipality transit buses and harbour ferry terminals.

Effective Feb. 1, the deal gives Pattison the rights to sell and service interior and exterior advertising on the majority of the city’s fleet of over 250 buses as well as the three commuter ferry terminals around Halifax harbour – affording exposure to more than 17 million pairs of eyeballs.

‘The addition of Halifax to [our] transit roster creates a synergy that will benefit advertisers, and a medium that has not existed for well over a decade,’ says Sherry Kirwin, Pattison’s GM for the Maritimes. ‘As the transit advertising provider in five of Canada’s top markets (Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Ottawa and now Halifax),’ she adds, ‘Pattison is emerging as one of Canada’s leading transit advertising providers.’

As well, says Kirwin, with Pattison’s well-established OOH presence on billboards in and around Halifax, ‘the addition of Metro Transit’s vehicle and ferry terminal advertising offers advertisers a depth and breadth of coverage that is unmatched in the region.’
