Here are the national winners (for all persons 2+; all times ET), according to BBM/Nielsen, for Jan. 14-20.
News and daily shows: CTV Evening News at 6 pm fell one spot to #9 with an average minute audience of 1.589 million viewers (up from 1.581 million on the previous week’s national chart). CTV’s Jeopardy/Access Hollywood at 7:30 pm fell one spot to #15 with 1.228 million (down from 1.262 million). The net’s Dr. Phil at 5 pm hit #25 with 970,000. Global National at 5:30 pm fell five spots to #27 with 944,000. CTV’s National News at 11 pm hit #30 with 884,000 viewers.
Monday: CTV’s CSI: Miami at 10 pm won the night, taking #4 with 2.038 million viewers. The net’s Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles at 9 pm hit #17 with 1.199 million (up from 1.036 million on the previous Sunday). Global’s Prison Break won the 8 pm time slot, hitting #18 with 1.183 million. CTV’s Corner Gas at 8:30 pm hit #20 with 1.163 million, while Two and a Half Men at 8:30 pm took #22 with 1.037 million. Global’s 9 pm movie, 50 First Dates, took #26 with 946,000 viewers.
Tuesday: CTV’s American Idol, airing 8-10 pm, hit #1 with 3.036 million viewers. The net’s Law & Order: SVU at 10 pm took #6 with 1.898 million. Global’s NCIS at 8 pm hit #10 with 1.431 million, while the net’s House sank 12 spots to #23 with 1.032 million (down from 1.391 million).
Wednesday: CTV’s American Idol, airing 8-10 pm, occupied #2 on the chart with 2.753 million viewers. The net’s Law & Order at 10 pm took #5 with 1.936 million (up from 1.521 million). CBC’s Little Mosque on the Prairie at 8 pm hit #29 with 910,000 viewers.
Thursday: CTV’s CSI at 9 pm fell five spots to #8 with 1.786 million viewers (down from 2.116 million in the previous Thursday’s 8 pm time slot). The net also won 10 pm with ER, which fell four spots to #11 with 1.427 million (down from 1.633 million). Global, however, won the 8 pm time slot with Celebrity Apprentice, which climbed two spots to #13 with 1.361 million (up from 1.242 million), against CTV’s Without a Trace, which took #14 with 1.302 million.
Friday: CTV’s Ghost Whisperer at 8 pm fell six spots to #19 with 1.174 million viewers (down from 1.279 million). Global’s Las Vegas at 10 pm fell three spots to #24 with 987,000 (down from 1.001 million).
Saturday: CBC’s Hockey Night in Canada Game One, airing 7-10:02 pm, climbed eight spots to #16 with 1.201 million viewers (up from 909,000). CTV’s Evening News at 6 pm took #21 with 1.144 million, while its Crimetime Saturdays at 10 pm hit #28 with 917,000.
Sunday: CTV’s Amazing Race at 10:18 pm climbed two spots to #3 with 2.038 million viewers (up from 1.854 million). The net’s NFL Playoffs, airing 3-6:03 pm and 6:35-10:18 pm, took #12 and #7 with audiences of 1.378 million and 1.829 million.
