FLASH: Phillips Canada cleans up at RMB’s Crystal Awards

In a surprise twist, comedian Judy Croon didn't show up to perform hosting duties, so RMB president Gary Belgrave stepped in at the last minute.

A cheeky radio campaign for Markham, Ont.-based Phillips Canada that played up grooming innuendos like ‘mowing the lawn’ took home top honours at today’s Crystal Awards Gala, hosted by the Radio Marketing Bureau in Toronto.

The suggestive spots were created by Toronto-based shops DDB Canada and Pirate Radio, and successfully built buzz for the Phillips Body Groom Men’s Shaver. The campaign was awarded the Best-in-Show Platinum Award, as well as the $10,000 grand prize.
