Big Brother not so big?

Global's Big Brother lost the battle against CTV's prime-time powerhouses on Tuesday and Wednesday. More people, on this chart, tuned in for CBC's Little Mosque, but the latest Survivor series is still living up to its name.

Here are the national winners (for all persons 2+; all times ET), according to BBM/Nielsen, for March 3-9.

News and daily shows: CTV Evening News at 6 pm hit #6 with an average minute audience of 1.547 million viewers (up from 1.469 million on the previous week’s national chart). The net’s Jeopardy/Access Hollywood at 7:30 pm took #14 with 1.207 million (up from 1.169 million). Global’s News Hour at 6 pm hit #22 with 946,000 (up from 908,000), while National at 5:30 pm took #23 with 927,000 (down from 960,000). CTV National News at 11 pm hit #26 with 882,000 viewers. Global’s The Young & The Restless at 4:30 pm took #30 with 833,000 (down from 867,000).

Monday: CTV’s Medium at 10 pm hit #17 with 1.152 million (down from 1.188 million). Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Global’s Monday night movie, airing 8-10:30 pm, took #21 with 966,000 viewers.

Tuesday: CTV’s American Idol at 8 pm stayed at #1 with 2.59 million (up from 2.353 million). The net’s Criminal Minds at 9 pm took #7 with 1.446 million viewers, while Law & Order: SVU at 10 pm rounded out a winning night at #9 with 1.439 million (up from 1.088 million). Global’s Big Brother at 9 pm hit #28 with 869,000 (up from 824,000).

Wednesday: CTV’s American Idol at 8 pm hit #2 with 2.272 million (up from 2.213 million). The net’s Law & Order at 10 pm took #5 with 1.595 million (up from 1.453 million), while The Moment of Truth at 9 pm rounded out another winning night at #10 with 1.339 million. CBC’s Little Mosque on the Prairie at 8 pm hit #27 with 881,000 viewers (down from 1.022 million). In the same time slot, Global’s Big Brother took #29 with 851,000 viewers.

Thursday: CTV’s American Idol Special at 8 pm hit #3 with 1.934 million (down from 2.033 million) against Global’s Survivor: Micronesia, which took #4 with 1.916 million (up from 1.816 million). CTV’s Lost at 9 pm hit #9 with 1.439 million (down from 1.529 million) against Global’s Celebrity Apprentice, which took #15 with 1.185 million (up from 1.042 million).

Friday: No shows made the national chart.

Saturday: CBC’s Hockey Night in Canada Game One, airing 7-10:03 pm, hit #12 with 1.255 million (up from 1.09 million). CTV’s Saturday-Sunday average for its weekend news at 6 pm took #13 with 1.215 million (down from 1.222 million). The net’s Crimetime Saturdays programming took #16 at 10 pm with 1.176 million (up from 906,000) and #19 at 8 pm with 1.028 million, while W-Five at 7 pm hit #24 with 914,000 viewers (down from 1.124 million).

Sunday: CTV’s Oprah’s Big Give at 9 pm won the night, hitting #11 with 1.282 million viewers (down from 1.719 million) against Global’s Family Guy, which took #20 with 1.02 million. At 8 pm, CTV’s Cold Case took #18 with 1.094 million (up from 835,000). The net’s Law & Order: CI at 7 pm hit #25 with 906,000 viewers.
