Yesterday, Cineplex Entertainment and Scotiabank added another reward element to their popular Scene points program. It’s an online music store that enables card-holders to rack up points for downloading music from a library of 1.5 million tracks.
Scene members can now set up accounts at the Scene Music Store and redeem 2,000 points for downloading 15 songs, 3,000 for 25 songs or 5,000 for 50 songs. They can also stream music samples and view artist biographies.
‘Scene is an extremely popular program for our customers based on the movie component,’ explains John Doig, Scotiabank’s SVP marketing. ‘By adding the ability to use Scene points for music downloads, we are able to give our customers greater access to the entertainment they want.’
Cineplex Entertainment president/CEO Ellis Jacob says the Scene program has ‘substantially exceeded our expectations in all key metrics. Our theatre guests love the program because they can both earn and redeem points fast. By expanding the program to offer music downloads and great contests, we think our members will realize even greater value – and there’s still much more to come.’
Speaking of contests, Scene members can now redeem their points for the opportunity to win prizes. Grand prize for the first one is two front-row seats to the upcoming ‘Glow in the Dark Concert,’ where they will see and meet Rihanna when she performs with Kanye West in Vancouver this June. The prize also includes air fare and two nights’ accommodation, plus ‘a variety of unique signed artist souvenirs.’
