Here are the national winners (for all persons 2+; all times ET), according to BBM/Nielsen, for June 30-July 6, 2008.
News and daily shows: CTV Evening News at 6 pm hit #5 with an average minute audience of one million viewers (down from 1.145 million on the previous week’s national chart). Global’s The Young & The Restless at 4:30 pm took #12 with 802,000 (up from 785,000). The net’s News Hour at 6 pm hit #18 with 705,000 (up from 701,000), while Global National at 5:30 pm took #20 with 704,000 (up from 703,000). CTV National News at 11 pm hit #19 with 705,000 (down from 759,000). The net’s Jeopardy/Access Hollywood at 7:30 pm attracted an average of 715,000, but only on Thursday and Friday.
Monday: Global’s House at 9 pm hit #7 with 950,000 viewers (up from 913,000). CTV’s Canadian Idol averaged 896,000 (down from 1.265 million) for its Monday-Tuesday 8-9:30 pm airings. Global’s Bones at 8 pm took #10 with 811,000 (down from 861,000). CTV’s CSI: Miami at 10 pm hit #13 with 793,000 (up from 763,000).
Tuesday: Aside from Canadian Idol (see Monday), Global’s Wipeout at 8 pm hit #25 with 629,000 viewers (down from 919,000). CTV’s Without a Trace at 10 pm took #29 with 545,000 (down from 746,000).
Wednesday: CTV’s So You Think You Can Dance, airing 8-10 pm, averaged 1.448 million viewers (down from 1.473 million) and stayed at #2. The net’s CSI: New York at 10 pm hit #3 with 1.363 million (up from 1.027 million), while Canadian Idol at 7:30 pm took #14 with 781,000 (down from 796,000). Global’s NCIS at 9 pm hit #30 with 544,000 viewers.
Thursday: CTV’s So You Think You Can Dance at 9 pm stayed at #1 with 1.569 million viewers (up from 1.506 million). The net’s Law & Order: CI at 10 pm hit #4 with 1.102 million (up from 1.014 million), while CSI at 8 pm took #6 with 974,000 (up from 751,000). Global’s Swingtown at 10 pm hit #27 with 568,000 (down from 570,000).
Friday: CTV’s Without a Trace at 10 pm hit #16 with 753,000 viewers (up from 665,000).
Saturday: CTV’s Evening News weekend programming at 6 pm attracted a Saturday-Sunday average of 682,000 viewers (down from 719,000).
Sunday: CTV’s Million Dollar Password at 8 pm hit #9 with 845,000 viewers (up from 769,000), while Cold Case at 9 pm took #11 with 804,000 (up from 678,000). The CBC’s Sunday night movie at 9 pm hit #15 with 777,000 (down from 912,000), while the pubcaster’s news at 11 pm took #23 with 664,000 (down from 826,000) for 10 minutes. Global’s King of the Hill at 8:30 hit #22 with 671,000, while Family Guy at 9 pm took #24 with 656,000. The net’s Simpsons at 8 pm hit #26 with 623,000, while American Dad at 9:30 pm took #28 with 548,000 viewers.
