Rogers Video getting new name

Publicis Toronto will introduce the entertainment biggie's new look with a multimedia campaign.

Rogers Video will change its name to Rogers Plus this month, rolling out the new moniker across Canada on a city-by-city sked.

The transformation will see approximately 450 stores change their signage this month in Ottawa and the BC Interior, followed by the rest of Ontario in September and October. Also, sub-signage will now include a list of products and services.

To promote the name change, a multimedia campaign is being developed by Rogers’ Toronto-based AOR, Publicis, which is also handling media. Elements will include flyers, door hangers, radio and OOH, which will feature billboards in bus shelters.

‘This change reflects our continuing commitment to movies and games while increasing the presence of Rogers Cable and Rogers Wireless products and services in our stores,’ explains Chuck van der Lee, president/CEO of Rogers Retail.

‘Home video and game rentals continue to be a thriving, vibrant industry in Canada, and we are committed to this part of our business,’ he adds.
