Toronto-based production and distribution company Hiltz Squared Media is partnering with www.Sweetspot.ca to launch SweetTV, a new webisode series based on the women’s lifestyle website.
‘The development of SweetTV is one of the ways we are expanding the Sweetspot brand to new, interactive formats,’ Joanna Track, publisher/founder, Sweetspot.ca, tells MiC. ‘By engaging our readers through online video, we are continuing our mandate to provide the latest lifestyle information in an entertaining and engaging manner.’
The series, which will feature 10-minute episodes, will shoot during the Toronto International Film Festival, which kicks off next Thursday, Sept. 4. It will be hosted by Track and produced by Naomi Hiltz of Hiltz Squared, whose principal, Jonathan Hiltz, will serve as executive producer. ‘Web-based series are a growing trend in today’s market, and our company is glad to be utilizing this medium,’ he says.
SweetTV is actively seeking sponsors to get on board and promote the webisode series via their own channels. The series will be broadcast on Sweetspot.ca as well as other Internet portals including Facebook, YouTube and MySpace. Sweetspot.ca, in which Rogers Media acquired a stake in June 2006, operates in Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver and Calgary.
