TD going all out and green for Virgin Fest

This weekend's Virgin Festival in Toronto will see TD Canada Trust promoting its environment-friendly side.

This year’s Virgin Festival – sponsored by TD Canada Trust – will take place Sept. 6-7 at the Toronto Island Park, beginning at 1 pm.

The event will have the TD Comfort Crew handing out sunscreen and hand sanitizer while misting passersby to help them stay cool. The TD Friends of the Environment Foundation will be promoting environmental awareness at the Green Spot.

‘We’re inviting rock fans to the TD Go Zone in the Green Spot, where they can blog from solar-powered computers, check out our biodiesel exhibit and charge their MP3 players and cameras at solar-powered stations,’ says Mary Desjardins, ED for TD Friends of the Environment Foundation.

At the TD Go Zone, participants can sign up for the TD Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup, a national conservation initiative running from Sept. 20 to 28.

Prior to the event, TD Canada Trust held a contest on the TD Money Lounge on Facebook, in which one contestant won an all-expenses-paid trip to the festival. Seventy-five additional fans received passes for two.
