So You Think You Can Dance Canada kicks off with 1.25 million fans

Yes, we can dance. And CTV's homegrown hit can even outpace its US counterpart.

While the hugely popular drama series Flashpoint took the lead Thursday night with 1.29 viewers on CTV and CBS, the two-hour series premiere of So You Think You Can Dance Canada got 1.25 million tuning in on CTV – 5% higher than America’s So You Think You Can Dance, season Four.

The show was sampled by 3.7 million viewers, 71% of which were females aged 18 to 54. Highlights can be further viewed on demand using the CTV video player.

The new dance series began with a promotional campaign including on-air, outdoor, radio and online ads, as well as dance teams performing in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver. The creative and media buys were done in-house at CTV.

Airing at the same time were Big Brother, with 1.1 million viewers on Global/CBS, and The Office, with 375,500 viewers on Global/NBC.
