ACTRA ratifies commercials pact

Three-year agreement gets an overwhelming nod from members.

The National Commercial Agreement (NCA) has been overwhelmingly ratified by ACTRA members at 96.6%. Key elements of the new NCA, which governs the production of English-language commercials in Canada with professional performers, include expanded new media opportunities and increased rates for performers.

The terms come into effect on Monday, finally resolving the collective agreement talks with the Association of Canadian Advertisers (ACA) and the Institute of Communication Agencies (ICA) that have been underway since July.
