Toronto-based CP24 today launched a new mobile site for smartphone users, bringing the brand’s local news content into the mobile world, a move that it says is a first for local television in Toronto.
The site will feature breaking news, weather, sports and entertainment, as well as the channel’s ‘Beat the Traffic’ service gives users travel times based on traffic congestion in the city.
‘This unique service puts news at our viewers’ fingertips,’ CP24’s VP/GM Bob McLaughlin said in a release this morning. ‘CP24 is Toronto’s source for breaking news on the television, online, on the radio and now on your mobile device.’
