Hilroy pencils in YTV’s The Next Star

American Idol for the pre-15 set, there are still plenty of sponsorship opps available for this youth talent search that draws one million voters.

Justin Bieber fans be aware: YTV is looking for the next fresh young face to take the world by storm.

YTV’s reality show The Next Star has announced a six-city audition tour starting May 1 to gather up contestants and promote the next season of the show. The tour starts in St. John’s, NL and concludes May 22 in Vancouver.

Hilroy Canada has signed up as a sponsor for the program, which will be supported on-air at YTV with 15-second promotional spots, an online presence at YTV.com and Hilroy gift packs for all show contestants that will include notebooks and other brand products.

The show will also be promoted through the April 9 debut of second-season winner Tianda Flegel’s music video for her single ‘Liar Liar’ as part of a 30-minute special called The Next Star: Where Is She Now? The special airs on YTV at 8:30 p.m.

YTV.com has also launched a The Next Star website, which contains audition information for budding artists aged 15 and younger. When the show launches on July 19 at 7 p.m., the site will be primed for audience interaction and include streaming video and voting capabilities. Viewers will be encouraged to visit the site to vote for their favourite finalist. Extra content and behind-the-scenes video will also be accessible.
