ZenithOptimedia signs new ZED president

The media agency's digital division, ZED, is now helmed by Veronica Holmes, former VP, portal content and strategy at Sympatico.ca.

Following the recent promotions of Florence Ng, Ruth Klostermann and Julie Myers at ZenithOptimedia, there’s more big news out of the media agency’s HR department: the appointment of Veronica Holmes as president of ZenithOptimedia Digital (ZED), a new position at the agency.

Holmes comes to ZED from web portal Sympatico.ca, where she was VP, portal content and strategy. At Sympatico, Holmes was responsible for content development and applications experience for the English side of the portal, working to develop content partnerships with mediacos such as CTV, Transcontinental, Reader’s Digest and the Canadian divisions of various music labels. According to a release on the appointment, Holmes also ‘led several major service and packaged goods manufacturers through the intricacies of internet advertising’ and was a member of Procter & Gamble’s ‘FAST’ committee.

‘It took us some time to find the right person who is not only conversant in the technologies that form our digital touchpoints, but one who recognizes that content, regardless of medium, has always been and will always be king,’ Sunni Boot, president and CEO, ZenithOptimedia, said in a press release on the announcement.

‘The future will continue to rely on strategic alliances, the ability to value and negotiate content, and to develop those alliances in the digital space. [This] is what will continue to set ZenithOptimedia apart.’

Holmes’ appointment is effective today.
